Educational Trip to National Institute of Nutrition

Field trips provide authentic, hands-on, experiential learning opportunities where students connect to what they are learning in the classroom, in a real-world context”- Learning is a process and it never stops.

The students of Indus valley international school Grade 8 had an exaggerating experience when they visited the National Institute of Nutrition. This field trip was organized as the students are learning about Nutrition. It was so apt to go to NIN and learn about nutrition research. The students were shown a documentary on the journey of NIN and how it has attained global recognition for its pioneering studies on various aspects of nutrition research.The students also got a chance to visit the museum. The museum was a repository of information on various topics related to health and nutrition.

A guest talk was given by assistant professor Dr Ms. Jayalakshmi on the importance of a balanced diet which was followed by an interactive session where the students got a chance to ask questions related to their inquiry. This trip was indeed a learning experience for the students.
