Diwali Celebrations

The Diwali celebrations at Indus valley International School often mean a festive look with diyas and lanterns adorning the class. The activities permeate the school premises with an atmosphere of togetherness and hope. The students of the Junior School celebrated the festival of Diwali with great enthusiasm. The young students proved that creativity and talent do not have boundaries. To mark the occasion, a special assembly was organized on 10th of November by the students of Grade 5 students, in the school. It started with a solemn prayer to the almighty and a beautiful thought that filled our hearts and minds with love and harmony. Telugu facilitator Ms.Durgabramaramba talked about the significance of the festival – how good always conquered evil and also about why and how Diwali is celebrated across India. Besides sensitizing students about the harmful effects of crackers. They also shared the guidelines of environment-friendly options for celebrating Diwali through skit performance. Wonderful presentation of the assembly by the students instilled a sense of victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. The students of classes III to X continued the Diwali celebration with the making of lanterns and decorated diyas. Beautiful diyas made by students were put up for Sale and bought by teachers and parents. The money was collected and donated to the needy for a good cause. The entire presentation filled the hearts of all students with the spirit of Diwali and they enjoyed the celebrations wholeheartedly. Both Teachers and students enjoyed the Diwali celebrations wholeheartedly.
