With a view to emphasizing the importance of clear communication and enabling students to understand Mass Communication and Video Production, Indus valley international school organized a visit to a city-based FM radio mirchi station on 22nd December,2023.
Students of grade 9th got an opportunity to learn the basics of radio jockeying and radio programming. Terming the visit to FM radio station as a unique experience for students. Students Mithali Ramavath and Nithya Kundra shared their experience of the visit and offered them a chance to learn the myriad ways in which clear communication could have a positive impact on society. They added that broadcast radio today reached a staggering 99 per cent of the Indian population. “Rural India relies on it overwhelmingly for information. It also remains the most inexpensive and portable medium. This trip aimed at making students aware of the benefits that FM technology, its allied technologies and means of communication can bring to the people in backward areas. This will go a long way in bridging the digital divide.”
